Second Chance vs Retake Assurance

  • Second Chance (AWS, CompTIA): fail → report in Certifications → Udemy verifies → new code, usually within 7 days. Report within 9 months; replacement valid ≥9 months.
  • Retake Assurance (Microsoft, select CompTIA): fail → re-sit under the provider's exam policies.
  • Both: bought only with the voucher, one extra attempt each, non-refundable, void if you pass first try.

Second Chance vs Retake Assurance — what's the difference?

Both are retake safety nets bought with the voucher. Second Chance (AWS, CompTIA): fail once and Udemy issues a brand-new voucher code after verifying your result. Retake Assurance (Microsoft and some CompTIA exams): you re-sit using the same code under the provider's exam policies. Neither is sold separately, each covers one extra attempt, and neither is refunded if you pass first try.

Can I use Udemy coupons or credits on vouchers?

Coupons and promo codes never apply to vouchers — but Udemy credits can, and coupons do apply to prep courses. The cheapest path is a discounted prep course + voucher bundle.

Are vouchers refundable? How long are they valid?

Vouchers, Second Chance and Retake Assurance are non-refundable, non-transferable, and expire as stated — typically at least 9 months. Expired value is forfeited, and vouchers are only valid in the country of purchase.

What if my voucher is out of stock?

Stock is limited and vouchers sell out. Check back in your course's Overview tab regularly — and use the wait to finish the prep course so you're ready the moment stock returns.

How do I schedule or reschedule my exam?

Udemy doesn't handle scheduling. Book and manage your exam on the provider's site (AWS/Microsoft via Pearson VUE, CompTIA via its scheduler) and contact them for any scheduling issues.
